Message from Dr. Magan about Remote Learning for week of Jan. 3rd

To the Members of our MLP School Community: Over the past 24 hours, I have received data from our MLP community reporting large numbers of students and staff needing to quarantine due to COVID cases and close contacts. We would have had 17 staff members out today and most of this week. We would have just under 50 students who should be quarantined today, for the remainder of this week, and for some families, for the first part of next week. This does not account for anyone else who may still test positive or encounter a close contact situation. It would not be possible to safely operate our school with the large number of personnel who have been affected. In collaboration with the Health Department, and County Superintendent, I have made the decision to move the Lawrence Township School District to Remote Learning for the remainder of this week. Remote Learning will be Tuesday, January 4th through and including Friday, January 7th. Students should follow their regular schedule and check for messages from their teachers. There will be a Food Distribution later this week. A separate message will be sent with details of the day and time. Due to the high numbers of community transmission, our office staff and teachers will be working from home. PLEASE reach out to your child's teachers with questions about their classes or schedule. If you are having technical difficulty, please email Mr. Palmentieri and he will make sure your message gets to the right person. apalmentieri@myronlpowell.org Thank you for your understanding and support.
